Framing Cont...
We are now starting the framing on the second floor. The last 27' LVL beam is in place and the second floor interior balcony is taking shape. We have chosen to sheath the house with Zip Board in lieu of using conventional house wrap over OSB sheathing. This technology should keep the home more air tight and energy efficient. The green coating on the sheathing replaces the house wrap and acts as the vapor barrier for the home. The exterior walls of the house are framed with 2x6 and 2x8 wood studs in lieu of the conventional 2x4 wood studs. The use of these wider dimensional studs provides for a thicker wall cavity creating for better insulation for the home, not to mention a stronger and more superior wall construction.

Superior Walls

Today was the big day on site. We had many folks slowing down in their cars to watch the massive 60 ton crane lift 4,000lbs.+ concrete panels into position. The crew arrived around 7:30am and finished up just after 2:00pm. All in all, it was a flawless execution and we are very happy with look and quality of the panels. We specified a broomed finish that will eventually receive a few coats of dark grey paint.

Rain Rain Go Away
Because of all the rain we had yesterday and all of the rain scheduled for this week it looks like we will not be digging out the basement and spreading rock until next week. The Superior Walls are scheduled to be delivered and installed the last week in October. Stay tuned....
